Our Perception and Position

The current “training scam” is causing a serious concern to human resources managers in many organizations in the country.  Many are tired of having their staff taken away from their jobs to attend training only to have them return without any more useful skills than they’ve acquired hither to. They are tired of having to do training because staff and some so called experts outside the organizations preached to them the gospel of training their people so that the institutions can develop.  They are bored with let’s-have-fun trainers littered around in the country whose concern are with the quality of their own performance rather than the performance of the trainees they are expected to serve.  In fact many corporate organizations are weighed down by numerous requests which all manners of trainers carry about in their suit cases persuading institutions to patronize them for more training than their needs, or imposing their excessive training hardware on their clients to embrace. At Market Link Consults, we are not in the business of training because the company down the street is into it. We are into training because there are things that people cannot do; yet they need to be able to them, so that they can perform their jobs well under the current globalization. Our belief is that training for any other reason is a fraud.  For this purpose, two major rules guide our training:

Rule 1 - Training is appropriate only when two conditions are present: there is something that one or more people don’t know how to do; and the  need to be able to do it.

Rule 2 -  If they already know how to do it, more training won’t help.
